Do you use Twitter?

Posted by Tom on September 24th, 2009

If so, you may like to follow us - twitter.com/ipbfree. We’ll be using it to relay all sorts of information but don’t worry, we’re not replacing this blog.

If you have any comments, we’d love to hear them - you can let us know at the iPBFree Community Forums.

Thanks,
Tom

The new home of iPBFree support

Posted by Tom on September 20th, 2009

We’ve now completed our merge of iPBFree support and resources - you’ll find them at the new iPBFree Community Forums, at forums.ipbfree.com. As mentioned previously, if you’d already registered on our old resource site The Source you can use your old credentials to log in; if not, you’ll have to register a new account. We’d recommend registering even if you don’t need help right now - we have a large database of resources for your board and community forums where you can talk to other admins.

As always, if you have any comments or questions regarding the service feel free to post them here.

Thanks,
Tom - iPBFree Community Manager

Upcoming Changes: Support/Source

Posted by Tom on September 16th, 2009

For over two years we’ve provided iPBFree resources at the Source and general support at the support forums. It’s a system that’s served us well but has proven impractical of late.

In the coming weeks you’ll notice some changes on both sites, as we prepare to move both support and resources onto the same site. That means you’ll only need one account to access everything, and no more posting the same support topic twice.

If you don’t currently have an account on the Source, you might want to register one now so you’re ready - existing user accounts and posts from the Source will be kept. We’ll keep the support board as an archive. For this reason, we encourage you to use the community forums on the Source rather than those on the support board, as posts on the support board won’t be copied over. If you like, you can use the Source’s general support forum but we’ll keep the main one open for as long as it’s needed.

We’ll keep you updated on this as events progress, for now please don’t be startled if there are odd changes on the sites or forum permissions change… we’re working on things.

If you’ve got a suggestion you can let us know in the community development forum.

Thanks,
iPBFree Staff

iPBFree Podcast

Posted by Connor on April 12th, 2009

With the recent changes to the support board’s structure and obviously with the huge change from iPBFree to Phalanx (due as soon as it’s ready) some of the staff members and I have decided to keep the changes moving, it is therefore with great pleasure that we release the all new iPBFree Podcast (cue fanfare!).

This podcast will be a once-a-month style podcast where we will cover a variety of topics in the news and tech world. We will be selecting a mod and skin of the month and announcing it, in each podcast.

One major function in this podcast is you, the members, we need to know what you want to hear and what you think of the podcast so that we can change or improve. We also want to hear from you. We will try to read out some messages if we can and in the new podcast forum we will post a date and a time that we will be recording the podcast so that you can send us some messages. If you have any questions you’d like raised in the podcast, please ask them here.

As I said we would love to hear from you and just because we have not yet started recording does not mean you can’t have your say, please feel free to post in the podcast forum on things you would like to hear.

I believe that this and many other of these changes you are seeing is for the best,

Thank you and I hope you enjoy the many podcasts to come,

Connor
iPBFree Support Staff.

The Source is 2!

Posted by Connor on April 9th, 2009

As of today (9th April 2009) the official iPBFree Resource site http://mods.ipbfree.com is now 2 years old!

I and other staff members would like to thank the members for amazing modifications and skins that have been released on the source. Keep an eye on the site as you may see some special changes really soon.

CFR Said “As part of our Anniversary, we’re going to be working to retool all areas of the board. You may notice a few massive changes, like the dropping of certain requirements. It’s my goal to return this board to it’s roots, with a site where people visit for the community and posts don’t look like people’s heartless attempts at reaching a set number. ”

Thanks again,

Connor,

IPBFS Community Manager.

See you later…

Posted by Windwalker on March 4th, 2009

Hi everyone, I say see you later as I never like to say goodbye. That is always so final sounding. Due to circumstances in personal life, and upcoming surgery, I will not have the time to devote here like I should as an Administrator and Staff. I hope you all understand.

It’s been great working with and helping all of you. I will remain on as Staff and hopefully see you all again soon.

So this is not goodbye, just a change in scenery and “See you later…”

Thanks,
Windwalker/Ron
